Divorce Day

Although it is not official, the first business day of the year is often referred to as Divorce Day.  At Positive Solutions Divorce Services®, we notice a higher number of people making inquiries about leaving their partners on this day. Interestingly, there is also a known increase in Google searches on divorce on this day.

The holiday period meant an extended amount of time spent with family, which can be especially stressful and may have escalated many of the flaws in a marriage. Couples who have been contemplating a divorce see today’s date as a good one to begin the divorce process. A husband and wife may have tolerated each other during the intense holiday season but decide that they want a fresh start beginning in the New Year.

Couples might feel guilty about ending their relationship over the holidays and so they wait until the start of the New Year before starting the divorce process.  If their marriage has already began deteriorating a couple could decide to stay together until the new year to spend one last holiday season together with their family.

If you are considering ending your marriage, contact us. Even if you do not use our services, we will be happy to answer any of your questions.
